Victory Liner adjusts trip intervals, frequency amid energy crisis
Bus company Victory Liner on Monday announced that it has adjusted the interval and frequency of its trips due to soaring pump prices brought by the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
“Due to the ongoing fuel crisis, Victory Liner is currently facing significant operational challenges. As a result, the interval and frequency of our trips have been adjusted,” the company said in an advisory.
“We understand the inconvenience this may cause, and we sincerely ask for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. These measures are necessary for us to continue operating and serving our passengers sustainably,” it added.
Victory Liner said bus tickets may be purchased directly at their terminals or onboard through conductors.
It may be recalled that the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) initially approved fare adjustments for public utility vehicles (PUVs), including passenger buses.
However, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. suspended the implementation of the fare hike, saying this is not the time to increase the fares.
On Tuesday, April 7, oil companies will implement another major oil price hike – marking the 13th straight week of increases for gasoline and the 15th week for both diesel and kerosene amid the escalation of conflict in the Middle East. — JMA, GMA News
