Marcos announces 1-month free toll for CALAX Subsection 3

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. announced Monday that toll fee would be free for Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Subsection 3 for one month.

''I can announce na mabuksan ito starting 12 midnight tonight. And for one month wala na munang toll (For one month, toll will be free),'' Marcos told reporters after inspecting the subsection with Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez and Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon.

Marcos expressed gratitude to all those sectors that made this project successful.

The 7.88-km Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Subsection 3 extends the expressway to Governor’s Drive Interchange in General Trias, Cavite.

This new segment is expected to ease traffic congestion and cut travel time between Biñan, Laguna and General Trias, Cavite to 26 minutes from one hour, further strengthening South Luzon’s transport network.

Designed to accommodate additional 6,000 motorists on a daily basis, this Subsection 3 provides a faster alternative route for commuters and businesses by bypassing heavily congested local roads in Cavite’s growing industrial and residential corridors. — RSJ, GMA News
