Parañaque City relaunches free ride program on Aug. 3

The Parañaque City government will relaunch its Libreng Sakay Program on Monday, August 3, as part of its efforts to ease the daily commute of residents and support transport workers.

In a Facebook post, the Parañaque City government said the ceremonial launch of Libreng Sakay Program Part 2 is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. along Sucat Road, beside the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) building.

According to the city government, the renewed initiative aims to provide free transportation for commuters while helping ease the burden of daily travel expenses.

Beginning August 3, the program will operate from Monday to Friday during peak commuting hours.

Free rides will be available from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The city government has invited residents and stakeholders to witness the relaunch of the program, saying the initiative underscores its continuing commitment to improving public transportation services and supporting the local transport sector.

The city government originally launched its Libreng Sakay Program on April 13, 2026.

During that initial rollout, 40 passenger jeepneys were deployed across major routes (Sucat–Baclaran, Sucat–Kabihasnan, and Sucat–Merville) to support commuters and transport workers amid rising fuel costs.— MCG, GMA News
