MMDA offers free towing services to vehicles submerged in flood

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday announced free towing services for vehicles submerged in floodwaters amid the heavy downpour brought by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.

"Maaaring dalhin ang sasakyang ire-request na ipa-tow sa bahay ng may-ari o sa paggawaan. Limitado lamang sa Metro Manila ang lugar na pagdadalhan ng sasakyan," the MMDA said in an advisory.

(The vehicle requested for towing may be brought to the owner's home or to a repair shop. The delivery area for the vehicle is limited to Metro Manila.)

In a latest advisory, MMDA announced that the free towing service is available until Friday, August 21.

The agency said it has so far towed nine vehicles led by its Special Operations Group-Task Force Road Clearing.

For towing request, the public is advised to reach out to MMDA's official accounts.

Several areas in Metro Manila have been dampened in the past days due to the continuous rains by the Habagat. The flooded areas left several individuals, including college students, stranded in schools.
