WALANG PASOK: Half-day work, classes in Baguio on Oct. 30; suspension on Oct. 31
Classes in all levels and work in all government offices in Baguio City will be suspended beginning 12 noon of Friday, October 30, in observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
However, offices providing frontline services shall continue with their operations on the said date.
“Departments providing frontline services for peace and order, traffic management, disaster risk reduction and management, CCTV and emergency 911 operations, social services, sanitation, health, revenue collection (including field work), and drivers who are required to provide transportation to these offices shall continue to report for work to ensure continuity of vital services to the public,” according to Executive Order No. 172, signed by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
Further, suspension of work in private business establishments and offices, and non-academic activities in private educational institutions, shall be at the prerogative of their respective heads of office, the executive order read.
Meanwhile, classes in all levels on Saturday, October 31 are suspended.
“There is a need to give students sufficient time to prepare for the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day and give them ample time to travel to celebrate with their families,” the executive order further read.
The country will observe All Saints' Day on November 1 and All Souls' Day on November 2, both special non-working holidays. —AOL, GMA News
