CamSur declares province-wide class cancellation due to Usman effects


The local government of Camarines Sur has declared a province-wide suspension of classes in all levels starting January 3 due to the effects of Tropical Depression Usman.

In a memorandum released on Wednesday, Governor Miguel Luis Villafuerte announced that classes will resume next Monday, January 7.

 

Camarines Sur was placed under state of calamity due to the damage brought by Usman .

Usman, which later weakened into a low pressure area, affected 45,348 families or 191,597 persons in 457 barangays across the country.

A total of 170 evacuation centers are now serving 6,637 displaced families equivalent to 24,894 persons.

More than 70 individuals died due to the tropical cyclone, most of them due to landslides. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
