The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has announced the suspension of classes and government work in some areas on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 due to inclement weather.
"#WalangPasok ang lahat ng antas sa public at private schools at mga tanggapan ng gobyerno sa mga sumusunod na lugar bukas, Agosto 26, 2025 (Tuesday)," the agency announced.
Classes are suspended in the following areas, namely:
- Albay

- Bulacan
- Camarines Norte
- Camarines Sur
- Catanduanes
- Cavite
- Eastern Samar
- Laguna
- Leyte
- Masbate
- Metro Manila
- Northern Samar
- Nueva Ecija
- Quezon
- Rizal
- Sorsogon
- Southern Leyte
A low pressure area (LPA) off Eastern Samar is expected to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across large parts of the country within the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Monday.
Rainy conditions across the country
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and the rest of Visayas due to the LPA. PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rainfall.
The Southwest Monsoon, on the other hand, will dampen the Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), SOCCSKSARGEN, MIMAROPA, and Antique, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms that may also trigger floods and landslides.
The rest of the country will experience generally fair weather, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. However, severe thunderstorms could still lead to flash floods or landslides.
