Shuvee Etrata, Anthony Constantino open up about courtship, dream rom-com series

Shuvee Etrata and Anthony Constantino are taking their time as they get to know each other better, with the latter admitting that he has been courting the former for more than a year now.

During the media conference for their upcoming digital series “From Vlog to Love,” Shuvee described Anthony as an “unreal” suitor, saying his persistence has remained consistent since the beginning of their courtship.

“It seems too good to be true,” she said in a mix of Filipino and English.

But what surprised her most was Anthony’s dedication to pursuing her.

“I think I'm not kidding. He's very persistent as a person. Since day one, he hasn't changed, his effort hasn't lessened. In fact, it doubled, even tripled,” she said.

For Anthony, his courtship of Shuvee began even before she entered “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 1.0.”

“It has started before her PBB days,” Anthony said. “Shuvee and I have met even before she was in PBB.”

The Kapuso actor said he was grateful to have known Shuvee before she became known to the public as a PBB housemate.

“Shuvee has been the same before PBB, of course. So what you guys see is what you get and that's what I love most about Shuvee."

While they are open to taking their relationship to the next level, Anthony shared they are currently focused on building a strong foundation for their future together.

“With our courtship, the industry that we're in, and the point where we're at in our lives right now, I think we both have a mutual understanding that no matter what it is, we want to just push each other within our career, with our families, of course,” he said.

“We want to make sure that we create the foundations for a strong relationship with each other," he added.

Shuvee, meanwhile, said they are on the same page when it comes to prioritizing their families.

"My top priority right now is definitely my family. I still have eight siblings that I need to help first before I choose myself," she said.

“Of course, I'm going to choose myself in the near future. But right now my priority is really my family, and we are on the same page about that. I think he's willing to wait."

Working on dream rom-com series

Shuvee and Anthony are working together on the digital series “From Vlog to Love” — an opportunity Shuvee has described as a dream project.

“I’m really, really grateful. Like, as I've always said, I've always wanted to do a rom-com show or series. Especially the opportunity that came to me after the show,” she shared.

“I really accepted it wholeheartedly. And this is a dream. This is my dream project. To do a rom-com with somebody that I'm comfortable with,” the actress added.

Per Shuvee, she is grateful that the project gives them a platform to showcase their talents while exploring a genre she has long wanted to try.

“This is really, I think, one of the best shows that I've ever done."

For Anthony, having the series released on a digital platform is also an exciting opportunity, particularly as more viewers turn to online content.

“With it being a digital series, of course, I think the industry is going to a place where there are a lot more digital viewers,” he said. “We're super excited for them, too."

“From Vlog To Love” premieres September 18 on the GMA Network YouTube Channel.

Aside from “From Vlog To Love,” Shuvee and Anthony will also star in the Kapuso program “Barangay Love Stories.” It will premiere on GMA Network on September 12, 4 p.m.
