Gladys Reyes' son Christof Sommereux says he turned down 'PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition' to prioritize education

Christof Sommereux, the son of Gladys Reyes and Christopher Roxas, revealed he decided not to join “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” to prioritize his education.

During his Thursday guesting with his mom in “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” the young actor said he values his studies at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, where he is taking up Hotel and Restaurant Management.

“I value it a lot. It’s not easy,” he said.

“Just like what I inherited from my dad, I never back down from anything. There’s something about the difficulty that’s just addicting. You get addicted to the challenges that UP gives you, so I really value it,” he continued in Filipino.

According to Christof, joining “PBB” would have affected his expected graduation date, prompting him to decide not to push through with the reality show.

“I couldn’t do ‘PBB’ because it would have affected my graduation date. I didn’t want to sacrifice that, so I made the difficult decision to say no,” he said.

“PBB Celebrity Collab” aired for two seasons on GMA Network, with Mika Salamanca and Brent Manalo named as the Season 1 Big Winner duo, while Lella Ford and Caprice Cayetano were crowned the Season 2 Kapamilya and Kapuso Big Winners, respectively.

In August, PBB announced its third season if collaborations which opened auditions to regular Filipinos around the world. — LA, GMA News
