Gabbi Garcia shares why she doesn't skip Sunday Mass even when she travels abroad

For Gabbi Garcia, Sunday Mass is a non-negotiable part of her life, noting that it's what keeps her grounded and allows her to reflect on the things that matter the most.

In her guesting on Kylie Verzosa's "Almost Honest" podcast, the Kapuso It Girl admitted that she's bad at journaling and reflects by turning to her faith.

"I go to church every Sunday. That's my mantra and that's a rule in my life. Now, okay, weekend, you wanna go party, you wanna go to bars, you wanna drink, you wanna have fun, go. Go ahead.
But you wake up early for Sunday Mass," she said.

According to Gabbi, she does not miss Sunday Mass even when she travels abroad and makes it a point to look for a church to attend.

"Even when I was in Paris last time, girl, every mass I went to was in French. I love it. But like the fact that I'm able to go in church and to reflect and to talk to God," she said in a mix of Filipino and English.

"That's my way of also grounding myself and having that reality check, and having my quiet moment. 'How am I in this life, how am I doing in this life?' On Sundays it's like, "Okay, what happened during my week? Oh, I'm grateful for this, I'm grateful for that." It keeps me human in this industry."

Gabbi also told Kylie that she used to like being booked and busy when she was younger but has now realized how essential rest is.

"Now that I'm older and wiser, health is wealth," she said, adding that there is more to life than just her career.

"That is where I'm very mindful. Yes, I'm an artista. Yes, I'm a career woman, but this will never define me."

Gabbi is currently part of "The Voice Kids Philippines" as its journey host. It airs every Sunday at 7 p.m. on GMA Network.

She was also among the hosts of the two seasons of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition."
