Marian Rivera addresses longtime 'padlock' rumor

Marian Rivera has finally addressed the long-time rumor that she padlocked someone in a room, firmly denying it ever happened.

“How could you do that when the lock is on the inside? Does that mean the two of us locked it together?” she said in Filipino on "Gandang Gabi Vice" Sunday.

The Kapuso Primetime Queen acknowledged it was the first time she ever spoke about the alleged incident, narrating that she and the person involved in the rumor had already settled their differences a long time ago.

“The truth is, we've been on good terms for a long time, way, way back,” she continued.

According to Marian, the person made a guest appearance on her 2014 show “Marian,” where they eventually met, and apologized to her.

“From there, she knew that there were things that supposedly happened but never actually did,” she said.

Marian explained she chose to remain silent about the issue over the years because she believed people had already made up their minds about what happened.

“All my life, I've never talked about this because no matter how much you explain yourself to people, they already have their own version of what happened in their minds,” she said.

“But I'm okay with that,” she added. “What's important is that whenever we see each other, we're okay, and I've already forgiven her.”

Meanwhile, Marian and her husband Dingdong Dantes are set to star in an upcoming film, “Remember.”

It’s directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mae Cruz-Alviar who is also the director behind their box-office hit movie “Rewind” in 2023.
