Lani Misalucha mourns passing of older sister May Bayot-de Castro
Lani Misalucha has taken to social media to mourn the passing of her older sister May Bayot-de Castro.
Sharing video that showcases how the many different people in lives come and go, the Kapuso singer wrote, "Some walk beside us for years. Others leave sooner than we’re ready for. But every person we love leaves a little light behind."
"I love you Ate," Lani ended her Instagram caption.
In the comment section, many showbiz personalities left messages of sincere condolences including Zsa Zsa Padilla, Kakai Bautista, Jona, and Shamaine Buencamino.
On social media, Lani has been open about the health struggles of May, often sharing and resharing their efforts to help in her hospitalization.
Earlier this month on Facebook, she reposted the link of the GoFund Me page that their other sister Karlyn Sacli initiated for May, who was "bravely battling primary myelofibrosis, a rare type of bone affliction and facing an incredibly difficult fight."
In September, Lani also issued a call-out for blood donation for her Ate May.
Lani shared about May's health struggles in July, when she posted about a fundraiser show their friends organized to help ease the financial burdens of May due to her health.
"The past 28 days have been incredibly difficult for my Ate May and her family. After being hospitalized due to serious complications, she is finally home and is now on the road to recovery," Lani began her Facebook post dated July 25.
"To help ease the financial burden of her medical expenses, dear friends have organized this fundraising concert. If you're able, I hope you'll consider supporting this meaningful event. I truly wish I could be there, but I'm still here in the US. My heart will be with everyone who is making this night possible," Lani added, as she asked for prayers and thanked everybody for their help and support.
May is a singer and an award-winning theater actor who famously played Elsa in the stage adaptation of "Himala."
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lani and their family at such a difficult time. — LA, GMA News
