PBB: Winwyn Marquez reveals why she entered Bahay ni Kuya as a mom
Some fans had been surprised when Winwyn Marquez was revealed to be one of the Kapuso housemates in "Pinoy Big Brother: Collab Edition 3.0."
On Tuesday's episode of the reality series, the beauty queen and actress opened up on the reason she entered the competition even though it meant she would be away from her young family.
Winwyn admitted that she feels guilty to leave her four-year-old daughter, Luna, with her non-showbiz fiancé, but she wants to set an example for her.
"I hope when she grows that, she sees that, 'my mom did everything she wanted to do despite her age, despite having her, she continued doing her dreams and what she wanted and not just because she's a mom she had to stop everything,'" she said in a mix of English and Filipino.
"I'll go outside the box and show everyone that moms can also do everything they want even if they have a different timing," she added.
Winwyn got emotional while sharing her story to the housemates as she held Luna's security blanket, which was wrapped in plastic so her little one's scent would still be on the fabric.
"She told me to bring this with me," she said. "I felt like she told me, 'Mama you can have this so you can have security in the house.'"
"As a mom, you'll do everything to give security to your child. You'll give everything to your child. Parents wholeheartedly love their children but it is a different feeling when the child loves the parents."
This was not the first time Winwyn used her platform to spread the message that motherhood does not mean the end of a woman's dreams. Last year, she returned to pageantry and competed in the Miss Universe Philippines 2025, where she finished as the first runner-up. —MGP, GMA News
