Kris Aquino says she wants her next BF to be a doctor: 'Somebody who won't freak out if I stop breathing. It's happened before'
Kris Aquino shared she had stopped breathing for two minutes and that is why she wants her next boyfriend to be a doctor, who can remain calm in a medical emergency.
On Wednesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the Queen of all Media said she wants to end up with someone who will be on her side.
“I want to end up with someone who will be on my side. Bimb is 19, after all. He deserves to have a life of his own. His life should not just revolve around taking care of his mama,” Kris said in a mix of English and Filipino.
Reiterating her preference for a partner who works in the medical field, she said “I still want a doctor. Hopefully, somebody who won't freak out if I stop breathing. It's happened before. I stopped breathing for two minutes.”
According to Kris, her heart continued beating during the incident, but her lungs stopped functioning.
Asked about her current love life, Kris confirmed she is single and has not received romantic advances from any doctor.
“Maybe all the doctors, after hearing my story, would say, ‘Never mind.’”
In the same interview, Kris recounted an experience with a well-respected doctor while she was undergoing anesthesia before an operation.
Clarifying that the doctor was not a former boyfriend, she narrated how while still partly conscious from the anesthesia, she asked the doctor to kiss her on the lips.
“I was saying, ‘You have to kiss me. And you have to kiss me on the lips.’ In the operating room. And Bimb said, ‘Mama, not on the lips. Only on the cheek.’”
She eventually settled for asking him to hold her hand.
“I didn't know about it until afterward, when they told me what happened. I was so embarrassed. We held hands until I fell asleep. Then I had a two-and-a-half-hour operation. He waited until it was over, and then we all left together.”
The doctor never responded to her messages afterward, Kris continued, speculating he may have found her behavior unusual. She laughed at the memory of asking for a kiss while preparing for surgery.
She recalled Bimby telling her, “Mama, you have this thing. You have this type. If the person is a doctor, automatically, that's your reason. Or if the person watches CNN, then you like that person.”
Kris was previously in a relationship with Dr. Michael Padlan.
On Tuesday, Kris gave an update on her health, revealing that two of her major organs need more medical attention as she continues to battle autoimmune diseases.
Despite her health challenges, she remained hopeful and thanked everyone who continues to pray for her and her family. — LA, GMA News
