GMA Network and GTV received the Child-Friendly Television (CFTV) Compliance Award at the 2026 Philippine Conference on Children and Media Child-Friendly Content Awards organized by the National Council for Children's Television (NCCT).

According to Vonne Aquino's report on "24 Oras" on Wednesday, several Kapuso programs were also recognized, including "Pinas Sarap," "Amazing Earth," "i-Bilib," and "Born to Be Wild."

Meanwhile, Chris Tiu, Dr. Ferds Recio, and Atom Araullo were named CFTV Champions for their contributions to child-friendly television.

"For me, being considered a role model for young people is one of the most fulfilling honors and forms of recognition," Atom said in Filipino.

"It's very humbling and it feels good," Dr. Ferds also said in Filipino.

Chris said the recognition encouraged him to continue improving his work.

"I am even more inspired to do better at my job," he said.

Two GMA Network child-friendly television programs also received special grants from the NCCT: "Planet XP" Season 2 and "Animal Code."

"Planet XP" Season 2 is an immersive adventure reality show hosted by Miguel Tanfelix. The program takes young audiences to different communities to encourage them to connect with nature.

GMA Entertainment Group Assistant Vice President Enri Calaycay said the recognition affirms the network's commitment to creating content that both entertains and imparts values to viewers, especially children.

"This is one proof that at GMA Entertainment, we don't just produce shows for entertainment. It's also important for us that our content and programs share values and impart good experiences to our audience, especially the young ones," Calaycay said in Filipino and English.

"Animal Code," meanwhile, is an experiential documentary and adventure series that explores the positive characteristics of animals and the lessons children can learn from them.

GMA Public Affairs Senior Program Manager Jaypril Japs Jaring said the program aims to encourage viewers to take positive action and develop a positive outlook on the world.

"We want to be able to inspire our viewers to take positive action and have a positive outlook on our world. This grant from the NCCT validates that mission and shows that we can do this and create even more with the help of our partners," Jaring said in Filipino and English.

The grants for five child-friendly television programs were awarded under the NCCT Children and Media Compact, a platform that promotes collaboration among institutions and sectors to help create a safe, dynamic, and inclusive media environment for Filipino children.
