Bea Millan-Windorski champions environmentalism in archival Rajo Laurel gown
At her send-off press conference for Miss Universe 2026, Bea Millan-Windorski made a statement on fashion and her environmental advocacy by wearing an archival Rajo Laurel creation dubbed “Tuguegarao.”
Inspired by the topography between the Sierra Madre and Cordillera mountain ranges, the ensemble, which belongs to Rajo's 2018 Archipelago Mapa collection, features an asymmetrical silhouette that transitions into a softly flared skirt, with an open-side detail. Its green and yellow hues evoke the Philippines’ lush landscapes.
“A little piece of home, brought to the world,” Bea said on Instagram.
According to the Filipina beauty queen, the gown reflects her commitment to environmental protection, especially amid growing concerns about mining in the Philippines.
“As an avid environmentalist, I am honored to carry the majesty of the Philippines’ mountains with pride, particularly as these areas face mounting pressures from critical minerals mining,” she said.
She also emphasized the importance of protecting indigenous and local communities, particularly those in Kasibu and Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya, describing them as “the greatest treasures of all.”
“As I raise our flag on the international stage here in Puerto Rico, I look forward to exploring the stunning Sierra de Luquillo mountain range in El Yunque National Forest,” she said.
Earlier, Bea ranked third in Missosology’s first hot picks for Miss Universe 2026.
She represented La Union and bested 49 other candidates during Miss Universe Philippines 2026 in May.
The upcoming Miss Universe competition is happening this November in Puerto Rico.
Bea’s official headshot for the competition features a sleek look, with the Philippine representative wearing a strapless white top and sporting straight, dark hair.
