PBB: Anthony Constantino, Nicole Fortuna learn Filipino words via Bring Me game
Anthony Constantino and Nicole Fortuna got to learn Filipino words in "Pinoy Big Brother: Collab Edition 3.0."
On Thursday's episode of the reality series, Kuya asked the two Kapuso housemates about their experience as Filipinos who grew up abroad. Anthony was born and raised in California, while Nicole moved to England as a child.
When asked about how they are learning Filipino, both said it is a difficult process.
"Honestly Kuya the first time I came here in the Philippines I just felt very out of place. I don't speak at all. I don't even understand one word that they're saying. I wasn't able to connect with the people when I first came here, Kuya," Anthony said.
"I have a Tagalog tutor, he's really good. But then I'm so like shy to use it out," Nicole said. "Just so scared of being wrong. But I know being wrong is how you learn."
Kuya gave Anthony and Nicole three hours to learn the Filipino names of various items inside his house. The girls helped Nicole, while the boys helped Anthony.
The pair then competed in a Bring Me game to test what they learned. Kuya flashed several Filipino words on the plasma, such as sandok, luntiang unan, mataas na upuan, sipilyo, timba, suklay, sintas, tasa, baso, and plato and they had to fetch the items from the house.
Both Anthony and Nicole scored six points and were declared as co-winners. As a reward, they received a concise dictionary from Kuya to further aid in their learning.
"PBB: Collab 3.0" premiered on Saturday. Sixteen housemates, composed of celebrity personalities, social media stars, and ordinary netizens, entered the new PBB house.
The reality series airs on GMA Network from Mondays to Fridays at 9:35 p.m., Saturdays at 6:15 p.m., and Sundays at 4:45 p.m. —MGP, GMA News
