Marian Rivera recalls viral confrontation on 'Dyesebel' set
Marian Rivera looked back on a viral video showing her confronting a man on the set of her 2008 fantasy series "Dyesebel."
During the latest episode of "Ang Walang Kwentang Channel," hosted by directors Tonet Jadaone and JP Habac, the Kapuso Primetime Queen recalled what led to the heated incident.
According to Marian, they had been trying to prevent people from seeing the prosthetics on her face to avoid revealing details of the unreleased episodes.
"They weren't allowed to see my face because it would spoil things ahead of time," Rivera said in Filipino.
However, she recalled that one man on the set was particularly persistent in taking photos despite their requests not to.
"I felt like he was provoking me. That's when it all started," she said.
Marian also shared that she was interviewed about the incident afterward, with some apparently expecting her to deny the video.
"They thought I would deny it, but it's true," she said. "That was me."
She then stood by her reaction in the viral video years after the incident.
"My point was, we already asked him nicely, but he wouldn't listen," she said. "Well, that's when the Etivac Queen came out."
In the same episode, Tonet praised Marian for being one of the most generous celebrities she knows.
Marian and her husband Dingdong Dantes will star in the upcoming family drama film "Remember." It is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mae Cruz-Alviar, the director behind their 2023 box-office hit movie "Rewind."
"Remember" will premiere in cinemas worldwide on November 11. —Hermes Joy Tunac/MGP, GMA News
