Narito ang panayam ni Jessica Soho kay Miss World 2013 Megan Young sa State of the Nation with Jessica Soho ng GMA News TV nitong Huwebes ng gabi:

Jessica: Maligayang pagbabalik sa Pilipinas at congratulations, Megan!

Megan: Maraming salamat, Jessica.

Jessica: Megan, how are you holding up you know with all the attention that you’re getting. How are you holding up, yung pressure, kumusta ba?

So, I’m just enjoying the moment, enjoying the people around me and I’m really excited to everything that come.

Jessica: You of course realize na the reason why is because ito yatang napanalunan mo yung pinaka-mailap na international beauty title para sa atin.

Megan: Yes. That’s true. And I’m really honored because maganda talaga yung purpose ng Ms. World, kung ano yung ginagawa nila and they support so many charities, they support many children around the globe and I’m really excited to work with them this year.

Jessica: Sa palagay mo, bakit ikaw ang nanalo sa mahigit isandaan yata yung tinalo mo. Na-process mo na ba sa sarili mo at naitanong mo na rin siguro sa people close to you?

Megan: I was in Indonesia with 127 beautiful ladies. It was a very tough competition you know they all have a good heart. They all are very smart, very beautiful and just goes down at the end of the day of how you are as a person that everyone is just equal and I have just good words to say about the girls. And I’m here representing all of them and I can’t wait to see them when I visit them when we have our tour.

Jessica: Beauty with a purpose -– 'yan daw ang sinasabi ng Ms. World.  Pinaliwanag ba nila sa'yo what exactly it means at ano ba? What exactly this entails for you?

Megan: Beauty with a purpose is way of the Ms. World Organization to help out. Every year they have the contestants make their Beauty with a Purpose videos. And it’s what they do in their country to help out. And eventually after that competition, Ms. World what they do they go around the world and they do this Beauty with a Purpose projects and they continue do that. And basically that’s what beauty… purpose is all about. It’s the charities, it’s about being able to reach out to others. Being able to help out other people that are in needs. And that is what Ms. World is all about.

Jessica: Pero Megan, pasensya ka na, totoo bang sinabi mo raw sa BBC (interview), you mentioned something about pageants being superficial. What makes Ms. World different now?

Megan: Yes. I did actually mention that. And one of the reasons why I did join Ms. World is because of the Beauty with a Purpose which is the main purpose is helping out other people. It’s the core values that you have, it’s that here inside your heart and being honest and being genuine and helping those in need. And that is why I joined Ms. World.

Alin yung gusto mong i-pursue as an advocacy?

Megan: It’s about women today and them being able to stand for what they want in life. Being able to have that voice out because a lot of women our being taken that advantage. We, some women can’t speak their minds. Some women don’t have that power and that’s what we want to empower women with. That their justice equals any other man in the world.

Jessica: I’m sure may mga bata diyan na nanonood sa'yo at tinitingala ka, nanood nung panalo mo and you know they’re also hoping and wishing na one day magagaya rin sila sa’yo.

Megan: Para sa mga gustong maging beauty queen or future Ms. World, ang payo ko lang sa inyo, e keep that good heart, keep that good head on your shoulder and if this is what you really want. Make sure that you work for it - hard but always with the good mind and with a good heart.

Jessica: Megan, hindi pala totoo na the good girls finish last. They do finish first. Tama ba?

Megan: (napatawa)

Jessica: Very humble. Thank you and congratulations at salamat. Ikaw ang kauna-unahan o you’re a breath of fresh air and good news rolled into one. Specially after the series of hindi mga magandang balita, kalamidad, you know all of the controversies in government. You’re the number one reason why a lot of Filipinos are smiling now. Thank you, thank you for the honor and the glory that you brought to our country.

Megan: Thank you, Jessica and salamat din sa mga Pilipinong sumuporta. And I’m really happy to be an inspiration and a role model. I hope to do well and to show them that what we can do this year. For them to be able to contribute and to be involved with us.

Jessica: Maraming salamat, sa'yo and congratulations ulit. -- KLaspoña/FRJ, GMA News
