Aljur Abrenica wants out of contract with GMA Network

Actor Aljur Abrenica on Thursday filed a petition for confirmation of rescission of his current contract with GMA Network, according to a report by Nelson Canlas.

 

He decided to file the petition because he feels his career plans are not "aligned" with plans of the network for him.

 

His contract with the network runs through 2017.

 

"Hindi ako nakikipag-away. Tumatanaw ako ng utang na loob. Ayoko sana umabot sa ganito", added Abrenica, who broke into showbiz after being named one of the winners of the fourth season of StarStruck, a reality search show, in 2006.
 

 

In response to the development, the network released a short statement: "GMA Network has not yet received a copy of the complaint filed by Mr. Aljur Abrenica. A statement will be issued when we have received and reviewed the contents of the complaint." — JST, GMA News
