Heart Evangelista engaged to Sen. Chiz Escudero

Heart Evangelista and Chiz Escudero are now engaged following the senator's proposal on Saturday night.

Makeup artist Albert Kurniawan posted photos of the proposal on Saturday night to break the news.

The photos showed Heart tearing up as Chiz got down on one knee as he put a ring on her finger.



"Congrats Heart and Chiz...yey.. they re engaged na :) #heartandchiz #heartevangelista" wrote Albert to caption the photos.

The senator apparently made his proposal in Sorsogon, where he had served as congressman. Heart was on holiday in the province over the past few days.

The high-profile relationship between the politician and the actress has been the subject of much speculation after the couple spent time in Europe earlier this year, with both denying that they have gotten engaged then.

In 2012, Chiz confirmed his annulment from his ex-wife Cristina after separating in 2011. The couple has twin girls born in 2007.

Chiz will be turning 45 in October, while Heart turned 29 last February. —  JST, GMA News
