Finally free: Granting of church annulment allowed Chiz to propose to Heart

In the past, Sen. Chiz Escudero has spoken openly about marrying girlfriend Heart Evangelista.

 

But the senator did not propose marriage to the actress until Saturday, when he popped the question during their holiday at his parents' home in Buhatan, Sorsogon.

 

Chiz's camp confirmed that he finally proposed to her after the church annulment of his first marriage was finalized in late July.

 

He confirmed the civil annulment of his marriage from ex-wife Christine in 2012. 

 

Chiz planned the proposal for a while, flying in Heart's friends to Sorsogon for the event. 

 

The engagement ring was a heirloom from his mother, which was re-shaped to fit Heart's finger. — JST, GMA News
