Celebs write touching messages to mourn passing of Mark Gil

With news of the death of Mark Gil on Monday at age 52, celebrities took to social media to mourn the loss of the prolific character actor.

Born Raphael Joseph De Mesa Eigenmann, he died after a two-year battle with liver cancer. He would have turned 53 on September 25.

Colleagues who had recently worked with the actor wrote touching messages.

Sarah Lahbati wrote: "R.i.p to one of the best people you could meet.... He was an amazing actor and person. You will be truly missed Tito Ralph. My prayers go out to your family. Photo taken by me during taping of Makapiling Kang Muli.. We will always love you Tito Ralph..."




Maja Salvador, who starred with Gil in a recent television series, meanwhile wrote: "my daddy dante i will miss you..."




The outpouring of grief continued on Twitter, where celebrities expressed their condolences.
