Chiz confirms meeting with Heart's parents

Senator Francis Escudero confirmed Tuesday that he finally met the parents of his wife, Heart Evangelista.

The meeting, however, was short as the senator came from a prior appointment.

“Nagkita rin kami pagkatapos kasi may pinuntahan din muna ako bago yon,” Escudero told reporters.

Heart earlier hinted that a meeting had taken place between her parents and her husband. The actress’ parents were absent both in her engagement party and wedding. They earlier accused the senator of being the source of the feud in their family and driving a wedge between them and their daughter.

The senator did not provide details about the meeting but he expressed hope that it will continue to move in the right direction.

“Basta maganda at maayos at papunta sa tamang direksyon at sana magpatuloy yon. At buo ang pag-asa ko na matutuloy nang ganon yon,” he said.

Escudero was happy that his wife and her parents, Cecile and Rey, are now on good terms.

“Maayos naman, maayos naman yung dinner nila. Pero maganda yung nangyayari, kung anumang gusot na meron noon, naaayos unti-unti na ngayon. Ayaw kong maunsyami kaya hayaan na muna natin na ganon,” he said. -- JST, GMA News
