Eat Bulaga's kalyeserye surpassed that 10-million tweet challenge and broke social media records with #ALDUBMostAwaitedDate, which also trended worldwide on Saturday.
In his Twitter post on Thursday, TAPE Inc.'s Direk Michael Tuviera challenged the AlDub Nation.
10 Million tweets for Saturday??? I just heard this is the target! Kaya ba, #AlDubNation?
— Michael Tuviera (@DirekMike) September 17, 2015 AlDub fans came out in full force on Saturday.
As of 3:58 p.m., the hashtag has been tweeted 10.3 million times.
The number is expected to increase before the day ends as the kalyeserye's fans, dubbed as the AlDub Nation, continue to talk about this Saturday's episode on Twitter and even on Facebook.
As early as 3 a.m., AlDub fans tweeted the hashtag more than a million times.
After the episode, the number of tweets spiked to eight million and continued to rise until the 10 million target was reached.
This Saturday's number of tweets broke the earlier record of #ALDUBTheAbudction's 6 million.
The episode was about the first date of Maine Mendoza a.k.a. Yaya Dub and Alden Richards. The date, however, was cut short after Yaya Dub abruptly left to give Lola Nidora her medicine.
The episode ended with a mysterious crashing sound of a car, which brought fears that Yaya Dub met an accident while rushing to deliver Lola Nidora's medicine.
Kalyeserye will continue on Monday, September 21. —ALG, GMA News
