GMA personalities receive award from UST students

The Student Leaders' Choice of the University of Santo Tomas announced that their pick for TV Network for News and Public Affairs is GMA News TV during the 12th USTv Awards Night at the Plaza Mayor on Thursday.

The other GMA personalities and shows that were recognized during awarding rites on Thursday evening were GMA News TV's State of the Nation with Jessica Soho the Students' Choice for TV Program and the infotainment show hosted by Chris Tiu and Moymoy Palaboy “IBilib,” for Students' Choice for Youth-oriented Program.

GMA TV network's “Dapat Tama” won as the Students' Choice for Social Media Campaign for socio-political development.

The Best Documentary Special award was accepted by Reel Time's Carlo Isla, former Varsitarian managing editor, while the choice for Public Affairs Program award was GMA 7's I-Witness.

The long-running noontime show Eat Bulaga was the Students' choice for Variety show and hosts Wally Bayola and Jose Manalo were present and in costume to receive the award.

Meanwhile, Maine Mendoza and the Explorer sisters received the Special Citation for Social Media Phenomenon. --Bernadette Parco/FRJ, GMA News
