Vice Ganda, Andrew E. lead over 580 performers in Duterte victory bash in Davao

One of the organizers of the event, Kat Dalisay, said that there are 586 performers from all over Mindanao as well as Manila booked for the thanksgiving party. 

Arnel Ignacio and Kat de Castro will host the event.

Among those expected to perform are: Jimmy Bondoc, Vice Ganda, Gladys Guevarra, Carlos Agassi, Ivy Violan, Bernardo Bernardo, Mark Mabasa, Isabel Granada, KZ Tandinga, Andrew E, Bradley Holmes, Daniel Matsunaga, and Erich Gonzales.

Expect tighter security during Duterte’s thanksgiving party in Davao City

The Davao City Police and the 10th Infantry Division of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are making sure that the 100,000 people expected to attend the thanksgiving party to mark the victory of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in this year's presidential elections will be safe and secure.

Hailed as “DU31: One Love, One Nation”, the thanksgiving party will be on June 4 at the Crocodile Park Concert Grounds in Davao City from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. 

There will also be a feeding program and a medical mission at the People’s Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Davao City Police Office spokesperson, Chief Insp. Milgrace Driz, and 10th ID executive officer Col. Casiano Monilla revealed some security details of the event to GMA News. 

All attendees will have to be frisked before entering the concert venue. Attendees are advised not bring  backpacks and instead use a transparent bag. Only transparent water bottles are also allowed inside the venue.

Deadly weapons and illegal drugs are prohibited. Smoking inside the venue will not be tolerated as a No Smoking policy is implemented throughout the city.

Authorities have warned of heavy traffic going to the area. There will also be drop-off points 100 meters away from Crocodile Park. Authorities are also planning to put up checkpoints around the city on June 4.

The military is tasked to man the three entraces to the Crocodile Park while policemen will patrol the concert venue.

Aside from the concert, Dalisay said that the organizers are also expecting over 1,000 patients and 2,000 people to be fed during the medical mission and feeding program at the People’s Park. — APG, GMA News
