Solenn Heussaff finds new business in yet another passion—wines!

Kapuso actress Solenn Heussaff continues to prove that she's more than just a personality on television and films.

Aside from being a talented actress, singer, and dancer, she has also made a mark as an artist, a cook, and a distinguished businesswoman.

After opening restaurants and being a partner in some food franchise, the “Encantadia” star finds herself in the middle of yet another innovative business venture—Wine in Tubes.

Wine in Tubes (WIT) France is a Bordeaux-based company set up nine years ago by wine professionals to provide people with wines “by the glass,” with the same quality and long-life guarantee as a traditional bottle.

The technological innovation is 100% French, and the self-confessed wine-obsessed French-Filipina actress could not be more happy to be a part of the company's expansion in the Philippines.

“Maliit na business pero maganda kasi ito talaga ang passion ko. I do enjoy my wine. Like they always say, 'You drink to forget, but don't forget to drink.' There are two things I love about life and I'm really passionate about—art and, as a French person, I love my wine,” according to the Kapuso actress during the launch of WIT's “Solenn Art” line.

Solenn's Wine in Tube collection includes red wine Chateau La Tour de Bessan and white wine Domaine de la Roche Moreau, which are the actress' favorites.

While she admittedly loves red wine, the actress decided to include a white wine in her collection for Filipinos who are less-exposed to wines.

“I'm obsessed with red wine. It relaxes me and it's something I look forward to come home to. But I didn't always like red wine, which is why I also included white wine. It's a good way to introduce wine to your palate. I believe it's easier to start loving wine with white," Solenn said.

“This particular white wine is more on the sweeter notes which fits with fish and other salty food. Us, Filipinos, like to mix things, like sweet and sour, salty and sweet. I love dulong, which is like the Filipino's caviar. Dulong and that white wine fit perfectly,” she added.

Aside from sharing her love for wine, Solenn also made sure that everyone  got a piece of “Solenn Art” with her Wine in Tubes collection.

“The red wine is inspired by details of Barong Tagalog, which is the Filipino traditional clothes for men. For the white wine, it's more modern, details from old Filipino homes that you might notice in places like Vigan," the Kapuso star said.

According to Solenn, Wine in Tubes are perfect for solo drinking and gift-giving—from birthdays, company conventions, weddings, and many more.

And the best part for her?

“You can bring it on the plane! It's a good size that they won't confiscate it from you," Solenn said.

Wine in Tubes is available online via wit.ph, and in Showroom at Society Lounge in Makati and Todd English Food Hall in Taguig.

"The technology is a French technology, all the wines we have right now are French. In the future, we also want to have wines from other parts of the world, and even local ones like Tanduay," WIT's business partner Kerwin Yu said.

The company has also expanded in other parts of Asia, including Singapore, Hongkong, and Japan. —NB, GMA News
