Duterte takes swipe at Baste: Hindi umuuwi ng bahay, sige lang doon kay Adarna

President Rodrigo Duterte took a swipe at his youngest son Baste on Thursday, even referencing the presidential son's relationship with sexy star Ellen Adarna.

Duterte gave a glimpse into the private matter during a speech in Davao City.

"Ang isang bunso, isa pa ring tarantado. Hindi na umuuwi ng bahay. Sige lang doon kay Adarna," he said as the crowd laughed.

He said that even his grandchild does not have a close relationship with Baste.

"Tinanong ko iyong apo ko eh. Kaya ko kinuha, nilagay ko sa bahay na maliit, iyong katabi lang din ng bahay ko... 'Sinong mahal mo? Papa mo at pati mama mo?' 'Mama lang.' It's a tragedy. Magsagot ang bata nang ganoon," he said.

Baste is Duterte's youngest son with his first wife Elizabeth Zimmerman.

Back in September, Duterte already hinted that he disapproved of Baste's choices of actresses for girlfriends, without mentioning Adarna.

"‘Yung youngest I insisted because maraming karibal mga artista pa ang girlfriends. When I saw the guards, she was there, beautiful ‘yung ano," he said.

"Pero I’d like to correct basta aabot ito, my son has two children of different mothers. You asked me, sa nanay ako loyal, sa mga nanay ako kasi… It’s just a matter of beauty. It is — sa beholder," he added.

Adarna has already confirmed the  end of her relationship with the younger Duterte.

The President said his relationship with Baste reminded him of his own thorny relationship with his father, late Davao Governor Vicente Duterte.

"Sa bagay, ako man din. I never got well along with my father. Alam mo sa totoo lang ang tatay ko namatay na never — hindi niya nga siguro akalain na ma-prosecutor ako, ma-mayor ako, tapos — because I was just a law student when he died," he said.

"Iyong tatay ko, Bisaya kasi kami eh, 'Do, hanggang pantalan ka lang.' That's an idiom sa Visayan, a cliche. Ibig sabihin, trabahador ka lang kasi hindi ka nag-aral," he added.

"'O sige, basta gibayaran [binayaran] lang ako sa kinarga ko, okay naman iyan,'" he recalled telling his father.
