The best pieces of love advice from Benjie and Sinag of ‘Destined To Be Yours’
The hit teleserye ‘Destined To Be Yours’ may be over, but its timeless lessons of love will ring true—like Benjie and Sinag’s love—forever.
The couple, played by the fan-favorite love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, wouldn’t get to their fairy tale ending without withstanding the challenges in their relationship mostly caused by their past relationships and families feuding. The stars recently answered netizens’ questions about love and relationships with the hashtags #AskSinag, #AskBenjie, and #LoveAdvice on Facebook and Twitter. Here’s their take on the matter:
“Bakit ang hirap mag-move on?”
Sinag: Tanggapin mo! Tanggapin mo na sinaktan ka, niloko ka at kung ano man ginawa sa iyo. Pangalawa, mag move on ka na. Alam kong magiging mahirap pero sabi nga nila, time heals all wounds.
Benjie: Mahirap mag move on kasi ayaw mo pa mag move on. Sa lahat ng bagay, choices lang yan. Kung choice mong hindi mag move on, hindi ka talaga makakapag move on.

“Ano po ba dapat pairalin, puso o isip?”
Sinag: Pareho! Kailangan balanse. Di mo naman masasabi kung siya na talaga ang para sa iyo. Mag-antay ka na lang at mararamdaman mo sa puso mo na siya talaga ang tama para sa iyo. It should be both. Gamitin ang puso, at utak din. Ganun dapat.
Benjie: Hindi ba pwede pagsabayin ang puso at isip? You can’t choose one over the other. It has to be a balance of both heart and mind.

“Paano papatatagin ang relationship?”
Sinag: Kailangan makapag-build kayo ng matatag na foundation in your relationship to be able to make it last. It can’t be a relationship based purely on physical attraction.
Benjie: Simpleng simple lang yan, tiwala or trust. Wag na wag niyong wawalain yun. Kailangan ng malawak na understanding at wag mo bigyan ng rason ang partner mo para magselos.

“Why do we fall in love with the wrong person?”
Sinag: Ganun talaga, parte yun. Kailangan muna natin magmahal ng maling tao para mapunta tayo doon sa tama. We always learn a thing or two from those “wrong” people which actually helps us find “the one.”
Benjie: Walang wrong person. It’s just always falling in love at the wrong place at a wrong time or wrong circumstance.
