Lovi Poe, Gabbi Garcia help present luxury auction items at 2017 Red Charity Gala

Kapuso stars on Saturday dressed to the nines and joined the generous and glamorous set at the 9th edition of the Red Charity Gala.

Gabbi Garcia, dressed in an electric Mark Bumgarner, had fun with Scarlet Snow Belo prior to the show.

The Kapuso star later went on to help present an Omega watch and a Louis XIII cognaic to the winning bidder, who graciously spent P250,000 for charity.

Derrick Monasterio, meanwhile, looked his dapper best as he presented the longest strand of south sea pearls from Jewelmer, which fetched an impressive P850,000 for charity.

Organizer Tessa Prieto-Valdes announced that a portion of the proceeds will go to pearl farmers and their families, so that they too might feel the generosity that was overflowing that night.

Gil Cuerva had the honor of presenting the lot that fetched the highest bid: a sapphire and diamond necklace by Emperor Watch & Jewellery. The item went to Dr. Vicki Belo, who offered P1,000,000.

Lovi Poe was stunning in a dainty Bessie Besana dress. Pretty in pink, the Kapuso start awarded the last lot of the night, which was a "Safari in Style" package that fetched P850,000.

The Red Charity Gala is organized by Tessa Prieto-Valdes and Kaye Tinga. This edition is done in partnership with Bench, as part of the brand's 30th anniversary.

The proceeds of the gala go to the Philippine Red Cross and the Assumption High School Batch 1981 Foundation.

The auction was followed by a transporting fashion show featuring the androgynous and gender fluid designs of Joey Samson. — LA, GMA News
