Director Jon Chu on Arnel Pineda’s biopic: ‘I think it’s the ultimate cinematic experience’

Last week, news about Journey frontman Arnel Pineda’s biopic was the hot ticket item, especially because Crazy Rich Asians’ director Jon Chu was reportedly at the helm of things.

In a StarBites report on Balitanghali Tuesday, Athena Imperial said the movie is in the pre-production stage, with Warner Bros’ acquiring the rights to Journey’s documentary, “Don’t Stop Believing.”

Meanwhile, Jon Chu said Arnel Pineda’s life story “is so inspirational. I think it’s the ultimate cinematic experience: you have music, you have dream, you have hopes. You have a guy who against all odds, becomes king of the world!”

In his social media posts, Arnel Pineda said he hopes the movie will push through.
