Mika dela Cruz says her role in 'Kara Mia' is 'technically demanding, sobra'
Mika dela Cruz, one of Kapuso's beloved stars, admitted that she's facing a lot of challenges playing her role in "Kara Mia," which will launch on Monday, February 18.
In Tuesday's Conversations with GMA News, Mika shared that everyone is feeling the pressure given the complicated nature of the narrative and how it requires technical effects and precise and focused movements from the actors.
"Nung nagstart kami magtaping, wala kaming idea ano gagawin, lahat kami nangangapa," Mika said, adding "mahirap yung role ko kasi technically demanding siya sobra."
"Kara Mia" is the story of two sisters who share one body. Barbie Forteza plays Kara, while Mika plays 'Mia', the half born to face the back of the body.
According to Mika, she had to go through numerous technical snitches just to portray the role properly.
"Nakabinder yung dibdib ko kaya minsan para akong ina-acid [reflux], kasi nakaipit siya palikod, tapos medyo masakit siya sa likod," she narrates.
"Lahat ng eksena ko, kamay ko nakatali sa likod, tapos yung [shoulders ko] palabas hindi siya pwedeng standing ganyan lang," she added, motioning that her shoulders have to be really pushed back and not just the normal way shoulders should rest.
"Minsan kung matagal eksena, nakabinder ako, feel ko mababali na yung likod ko and ang challenge, lahat kailangan ko gawin pabaliktad," she said.
Mika expressed that because her role is the person facing the back, all her actions have to be backwards. Even her clothes, she said, had to be worn the opposite way.
"Matarantahin ako sa maliit na bagay, naprapraning ako, so minsan dito siya haharap, saan ako haharap? Minsan may salamin kaming gamit, minsan may reflection so dapat ba baliktad, dapat ba, paano yung ikot ko? Clockwise? Counter clockwise? So kailangan lahat pabaliktad," she said.
She explained, "Kunyari sobrang ganda na ng emotion ko, eh maglalakad ako pabaliktad, dapat paatras ako, pero nakakalimutan ko, maglalakad ako paharap, icucut nanaman, ulit so daming iniisip."
