AiAi to star in rap musical film with Ex Battalion

AiAi delas Alas is set to star in a rap musical film titled  “Sons of Nanay Sabel” with hip hop collective Ex Battalion.

The Kapuso Comedy Queen said she has missed doing a family films.

“Siyempre ngayon 'di ba 'yung Tanging Ina sa Netflixm eh bagong pasok lang siya sa Netflix so nung napanuod ko siya na-miss kong gumawa ng ganong pelikula 'yung ganitong klase na pampamilya,” AiAi told reporters at the press conference of their film on Thursday.

AiAi will portray a mother of six boys who will be played by Ex Battalion members King Badger, Daryl, Archie, Jon Santos and King Badger, James, Mark and Rhen.

She said she will have a different kind of mom role in this film.

“Nung 'Tanging Ina' perfect na nanay ako, dito nanay ako na marami akong pagkakamali na itinama ko later on, iniwan ko sila eh nung mga baby pa sila so kailangan ko i-redeem sarili ko bilang ina, so doon papasok ‘yong storya.”

Despite the group’s naughtiness, AiAi believes the boys are rich with talent in acting and music.

“Magagaling na artista, pasaway pero magagaling, yun talaga kahit ano pang sabihin natin, kahit marami silang mga bashers, haters hindi natin maikakaila na ang mga bata ay mahuhusay talaga hindi lang sa pagrarap kung hindi sila rin gung gumagawa ng kanta nila and surprisingly magagaling din silang artista.”

AiAi will also have rap and singing parts in the film.

The film will also star Miss International 2015 Kylie Verzosa who will steal the hearts of the six brothers.

“Sons of Nanay Sabel” is written by Mel Mendoza, the same writer who wrote “Ang Tanging Ina,” and directed by Dado Lumibao.

It is set to premiere nationwide on May 1. —JST, GMA News
