Lucy Torres and Richard Gomez are at the forefront local elections in Leyte
Lucy Torres and Richard Gomez are both leading the local elections in Ormoc City, Leyte on Tuesday according to the partial and unofficial results.
Richard is set to retain his seat as the mayor of Ormoc City with 77,573 votes while his opponent Eric Codilla losing with only 29,795 votes.
Meanwhile, his wife Lucy is also set to be reelected as the representative of the 4th District of Leyte; she garnered 80,862 votes while her opponent Winnie Codilla only had 25,001 votes.
Lucy was first elected as the representative of the 4th District of Leyte in 2010, when she fill-in the position for her husband Richard after he was disqualified by the Commission on Elections for failing to sufficiently establish his residency in Ormoc.
Richard, on the other hand, first ran for Ormoc City's mayor in 2013 and lost to Edward Codilla, he ran for the same position in 2016 and he was then elected as Ormoc City mayor.
