Bibeth Orteza says Eddie Garcia asked to be buried with partner Lilibeth Romero’s father

Eddie Garcia's loved ones are looking to comply with his wish that he be buried alongside the remains of the father of his partner Lilibeth Romero.

According to Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras", family friend Bibeth Orteza told reporters that the 90-year-old veteran actor and Lilibeth's father were longtime friends.

"'Yun nga pa lang nasabi minsan ni Tito Eddie na pabiro na gusto raw niya 'yung abo niya ay ikakalat sa manila bay ay hindi totoo 'yun," Orteza said at Garcia's wake.

"Apparently at one point, ang Tito Eddie at father ni Lilibeth, si Mike, kasi magkaibigan 'yung dalawang 'yun, nangako sa isa't isa. 'Pag nilibing tayo magkasama tayo sa libingan," she added.

"So 'yun ang inaayos nila," Orteza said.

Garcia died on Thursday after several days of being comatose at the Makati Medical Center.

He had suffered a cervical fracture before slipping into a coma.

Garcia's remains were cremated around 1 a.m. on Friday.

According to his stepson, 1-Pacman Representative Mikee Romero, members of the Garcia, Lagman and Romero held a brief eulogy before Garcia's remains were taken into the cremation room.

Also present were some friends like Orteza, Tirso Cruz III and Philip Salvador.

They gave Garcia a standing ovation and shouted "Bravo!" before the cremation. —NB, GMA News
