According to Michael V., none other than Dolphy inspired him in his role in GMA Pictures' comeback "Family History."

"When I was growing up, I would watch a lot of 'John En Marsha' but in movies, makakita mo ibang-iba si Dolphy. Ang serious ng mga roles niya," Bitoy tells GMA News Online.

He recalls watching a Dolphy movie and being astounded by the King of Comedy's acting. "I can't remember which film that was but I remember one particular scene, nung binalibag ni Dolphy yung TV — iba."

"Iba" is also how Carol Bunagan, Bitoy's wife and co-producer describes the comedy genius' acting in "Family History."

"I'm his number one critic, and I tell him when I'm less than impress. Asawa na niya ako sa hindi na dapat ako masyadong bilib sa kanya, but really. Kakaibang Michael V. ang mapapanuod niyo dito," she continued.

Michael V. mentioned Hollywood stars Robin Williams and Steve Carell having inspired him in his role as the husband of Dawn Zulueta and father to Miguel Tanfelix, but it was really Dolphy who put a dent on him.

The comeback project of GMA Pictures has been described as family drama but according to Bitoy, “hindi ako lalabas sa movie without some semblance of comedy."
