Michael V. says 'Family History' is just the start of his filmmaking journey
Michael V. will soon make his directorial debut with "Family History" but the Kapuso comedy genius says that's just the beginning.
Bitoy is ready to hear the public's feedback — good or bad, it won't stop him.
"Simula palang 'to ng journey natin eh, at kasama sa journey ay 'yung failure," he said in his latest vlog, in which he answers question about "Family History."
"Kung mag-fail that means mayroon kang matututunan. At doon sa mga matututunan mo, pwedeng i-apply yan sa susunod na project mo," he added.
Should the film succeed, he said he would take note of the good aspects of it for future projects.
Bitoy said that the film's success in the box office isn't of much concern to him, because he is more interested in what he would learn as a first-time director.
"Definitely hindi importante for me 'yung kikitain nitong pelikula, mas importante sakin 'yung lessons na matututunan ko out of this," he said.
Even during the film's production, Bitoy said he already learned an important lesson: never underestimate a project.
He admitted that at the start, he thought making "Family History" would be easy because he has had front row seats to the shooting of television shows like "Pepito Manaloto."
"Iba pa rin pala pagka pelikula. Para siyang TV show times ten," he said.
"Never underestimate filmmaking. Kahit anong genre pa siya. Or kahit gano kadali sa tingin mo gawin yung pelikula," he added.
"Family History" will arrive at theaters on July 24.
