Veteran actress Mona Lisa died in her sleep on Sunday August 25, her daughter Vangie Bocobo confirmed with GMA News. She was 97.
The multi-awarded actress had been bedridden and went into deep sleep at 1:14pm Sunday. Vangie and her sister Kathleen were with their mom when she passed away.
According to Vangie, they had been Mona Lisa’s primary caretakers as the actress had battled Alzheimers for three years, since she was 94.
But her passing away was peaceful, and she felt no pain.
Viewing of Mona Lisa’s remains starts Monday, August 26 at Loyola Memorial Chapels 1 & 2 in Paranaque. Internment is on Friday August 30 at 3pm. — LA, GMA News
