Alden Richards believes his purpose in life is to inspire others through his craft

Alden Richards believes his purpose in life is to inspire people and make them happy through his God-given gift: acting.

Upon receiving the Asian Star Prize in Seoul, South Korea on Wednesday, Alden noted the actor's job: "It’s always our hope to make people happy and inspire them with our passion. Thank you."

It's exactly what he told GMA News Online at the launch of his athleisure collection last week: "I like to believe na my purpose in life is to serve as an inspiration to people with the things that I do and things I love, which is acting."

According to Alden, being a public figure is a gift, and he wants to make the most out of it. "It’s an opportunity to inspire people, to inspire kids, make their lives easy and happy with the projects that I make, mapa- movies, teleserye, anthology pa ‘yan, mapa-mall show pa ‘yan o concerts," he said.

"I guess my purpose in life is to really make people happy and I’m really happy whenever I see a lot of people happy with the things that I do," he added.

Alden is set to return on primetime TV with "The Gift." In the drama series, he will portray a blind man fulfilling his life purpose through his newfound supernatural ability after losing his eyesight. — LA, GMA News
