Jo Berry says being able to co-star with Alden Richards in 'The Gift' is an answered prayer

Jo Berry said the opportunity to co-star with the Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards in the upcoming GMA-7 series "The Gift" is an answered prayer.

"Idol ko 'to eh, isa po 'to sa pinag-pray ko [na] maka-work and binigay naman po," Jo Berry told the press on Monday at the media launch of "The Gift."

The Kapuso actor said before they co-starred for "The Gift," there were instances she would ask for a photo with Alden.

"Sobrang galing niya pong aktor, hindi pa po ako artista lagi ko siyang pinapanuod," she said. "Ang daming instances dati na lalapit ako magpapa-picture lang ako. Nag-start na po mag-air 'yong 'O Nanay' kasi sinasabi ko lagi sa kanya 'sana magkawork tayo.'"

The 25-year-old actress said it was challenging to play a mother role to Alden who is only a few years older than her.

"Mahirap in a way pero tinulungan po ako ni Direk L.A. kung paano ako maga-adjust," she narrated.

She said it helped that Alden made her feel comfortable even during the first few days of their taping.

"Si Alden din po, ang laking tulong na pinafeel niya sakin na puwede akong maging komportable sakanya first few days pa lang kaya naging magaan 'yong pagiging nanay ko sakanya," she said.

Jo Berry will play as Alden's adoptive mother in the upcoming GMA-7 drama series "The Gift."

Other Kapuso stars who will be in the drama series include Jean Garcia, Thia Thomalla, Martin del Rosario, Mikoy Morales, Christian Vasquez, Elizabeth Oropesa, Rochelle Pangilinan, Ysabel Ortega and Mikee Quintos. — LA, GMA News
