Why Kate Valdez admires Kyline Alcantara

Kate Valdez will be starring alongside Kyline Alcantara in the upcoming film "Black Lipstick," and she has nothing but praise for her younger co-star.

Speaking to entertainment reporters on Tuesday, Kate said she was blown away by how Kyline worked on set.

"Ako, I'm very, very proud of her (Kyline) kasi, at her young age, parang grabe 'yung...hardworking side niya, makikita mo sa kanya 'yung pagka professional niya," said Kate, who has drawn plaudits herself for her acting work, most recently in "Onanay."

Kyline will be playing her first lead role in "Black Lipstick," which tells a powerful story about the importance of self-love and acceptance.

"'Pag wala pang take, nakikipaglaro 'yan...pero pag may take na, ay, nag-switch siya. Parang, wow, as in she really deserves it," Kate said.

"She really deserved that role, kasi 'yung tiwala ko din as her friend and co-actor, dapat lang nasa (kanya) 'yung role," she added. —JST, GMA News
