5 exciting things to look forward to in the upcoming afternoon prime 'Madrasta'

"Madrasta" is GMA-7's newest afternoon prime drama premiering on October 7 and there are a number of exciting things you can look forward to in the show.

Aside from its eventful story line; its powerhouse cast will also make every scene worth watching.

The cast include Arra San Agustin, Thea Tolentino, Juancho Triviño, Gladys Reyes, Manilyn Reynes, Almirah Muhlach, Kelvin Miranda, Anjo Damiles, Isabelle de Leon and Ahron Villena.

Here are things you need to watch out for in "Madrasta:"

1. It's Arra San Agustin's first leading role

Introduced as the newest Kapuso Acting Gem, Arra will be taking on her first-ever title role. In "Madastra," Arra will be Audrey, a modern madrasta or stepmother.

She said her workshops with Bova as well as Sharon's portrayal in the '90s movie of the same name have helped her take on the role.

2. Gladys Reyes won't play an antagonist!

Gladys Reyes has always been an effective villain, but in "Madastra," viewers won't see the usual feisty Gladys as she won't be an antagonist.

According to the actress, the real challenge for her to to make her face and voice seem kinder. "'Yong challenge doon 'yong mukha ko 'yong pagmumukhain kong mabait," she told the media at the show's press conference.

3. It will serve kilig in the afternoon

Arra and leading man Juancho Triviño (Sean Ledesma) have fresh chemistry that will give sleepy afternoons into major boost of kilig. You'd want to see more of after seeing the teasers.

4. The wedding scene is something to look forward to

Apart from the dreamy wedding setup atop a mountain, there's Audrey's (Arra) arrival scene in no less than a helicopter, baby!

But there's more: Katherine (Thea Tolentino), Sean's cheating wife, will be a mjor scene stealer. 

5. There is so much sampalan and sabunutan! 

Teasers released show so much sampalan and sabunutan between Arra and Thea, and according to the latter, there are more similar scenes that will have the viewers sitting at the edge of their seats.
