Rachelle Ann Go gets standing ovation at the 2019 World Food Prize
Rachelle Ann Go received a standing ovation during her performance at the 2019 World Food Prize Laureate Award Ceremony at the Iowa State Capitol Building in Des Moines, USA.
The Filipina international musical theater star shared the video of her performance on her Facebook page, where she said she actually lost her voice a few days before the event.
Rachelle performed six songs including one Tagalog song "Bayan Ko." The other songs like I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "The Movie in My Mind," and "Defying Gravity," made for a special Broadway medley.
The singer-actress ended her whole performance singing "Rise Up" that earned her a standing ovation from the audience.
The Facebook post also said the ceremony invites "world-class performers take the stage to honor the World Food Prize Laureate."
The World Food Prize Laureate 2019 was given to Simon N. Groot of Netherlands. He is the founder of vegetable seed developer East-West-Seed which he started in the Philippines. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
