Catriona Gray looks back on her Miss Universe journey

What started out as a dream turned into reality when Catriona Gray was crowned Miss Universe last year.

Before she passes on the title this December, Queen Cat lets us look back at her incredible journey in a captivating video entitled "MAGHANDA: The country. The preparation. The crown."

In her own narration, the beauty queen shared how she not only won the Miss Universe pageant. More importantly, she learned the true answer to the question: "What does it mean to be a Filipino?"

"I had a choice to see the pageant as just that  — a pageant — or to see the competition as an opportunity to not only show myself as a passionate Filipina representative, but to also showcase the Philippines."

And she did just that in the five-minute clip.

Apart looking back at her iconic coronation and other memorable moments throughout the pageant, Catriona also took us around the sights of the Philippines, emphasizing its marvelous beauty, culture, and history  -- like a true queen.

The 2019 Miss Universe pageant is set to be held December 9 in Atlanta, Georgia, and this year's Bb. Pilipinas Gazini Ganados is set on winning a back-to-back crown for the Philippines. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
