'Frozen 2' ices out Pinoy box office; fetches P315.1-M on opening weekend
"Frozen 2" got a very warm welcome from Filipino moviegoers during its opening weekend.
Following the hurricane success of its first installment in 2013, the animated fairy tale famed for its hit song "Let It Go" generated a blistering P315.1 million (est. 5.8 million USD) in gross box office nationwide.
This makes it the "highest grossing animated film within five days since its release," according to a press statement.
The film has also set records in the Philippine box office with the "highest opening day for an animated film" earning over P25.4 million, surpassing Disney's “Moana" back in 2016.

"Frozen 2" is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
The award-winning cast, including Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, and Ciarán Hinds, reprise their voice acting portrayals from well-loved original.
