Alden Richards is set to host GMA Network's newest musical competition "Centerstage," alongside Betong Sumaya.

With children aged 7 to 12 years old coming from all over the country to join the upcoming musical reality show, Alden admitted that hosting will probably bring out the "kuya" in him.

During the show's media conference in GMA Network, Thursday, the actor said, "'Yung 'Centerstage' po ma-eexpect ng mga bata, it's gonna be fun, it's gonna be inspirational.

"Mas nahuhubog nila 'yung pagiging kuya ko kasi mga bata 'yung mga contestant natin," he added.

Alden said he wants the young contestants to be inspired and motivated to continue pursuing their dreams after joining the show.

He said, "We want them to be inspired and motivated na even though hindi sila makuha sa contest na to this will not be the end but the start of your journey as singers."

Alden also shared that "Centerstage" will only host children for now, but the show can later on progress into a much older age group.

With Pops Fernandez, Aicelle Santos and Mel Villlena as the panel of judges, "Centerstage" is set to air every Sunday starting February 16.
