Yasmien Kurdi prays for former classmates, clinical instructors who are now among frontliners in fight vs. COVID-19


The plight of our health workers in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) hits close to home for Yasmien Kurdi, who had taken up nursing in college.

In her latest IG post, the Kapuso actress said she was praying for the safety of her former classmates and clinical instructors, as well as her sister-in-law, who are currently among medical frontliners in the country's fight against COVID-19.

"Sa mga classmates ko noon, sa sis-in-law ko at sa mga C.I. (clinical instructors) ko… na frontliners ngayon... mag-iingat kayo…Pag-pray ko na sana safe kayong lahat... kung na saan mang lugar kayo ngayon,” Yasmien wrote in the caption.

The “Beautiful Justice” star, who started her career in showbiz after joining “Starstruck, shared some photos from her days as a nursing student.

Yasmien also grew emotional as she sent her well wishes for her former colleagues.

“Naiiyak ako...  Sana matapos na po itong lahat,” she added.

COVID-19 has claimed the lives of more than 30 people and infected at least 636 others in the Philippines.

At least nine of the fatalities were doctors who tested positive for the virus.
