Eat Bulaga just gave UST 3D printers to help with PPE production

Eat Bulaga has donated three brand new 3D printers to the University of Santo Tomas to help in producing protective personal equipment (PPE) of their frontliners.

On Facebook, UST shared the good news, thanking Eat Bulaga and TAPE Inc., and happily informed everybody that the machines have been installed in the University.

“[The printers] will augment UST’s efforts of producing visors for the face shields of frontliners,” read a portion of UST’s post.

The lack of PPEs has become one of the more important issues in our fight against COVID-19. Early on, UST has placed more than 500 of its staff on quarantine due to exposure to the disease.

Volunteers from the Faculty of Engineering addressed the issue by turning to 3D printing. In an earlier post, UST said it had a total of six printers, two of which were a grant from the Department of Science and Technology.

This measure of kindness from the longest-running noontime show, upping the number of UST's machines to nine, will definitely help. — LA, GMA News
