Check out Project Rice Up, an initiative started by talents from GMA Artist Center to help those who have temporarily lost their jobs due to the enhanced community quarantine amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat.

"Various Kapuso stars join #ButilParaSaBuhay: Munting handog ng inyong mga paboritong Kapuso para sa mga nawalan ng hanapbuhay sa gitna ng COVID-19  #KapusoProjectRiceUp Stay tuned for details on how to help out," a post on Instagram read.

According to Artist Center, Project Rice Up is a way for the talents to give back to those who have supported their shows.

As artists, they also feel the uncertainty of times, but they also know they have a bit more. The artists know it's time for them to share what they have.

In just an hour and among themselves, the talents of Artist Center were able to collect enough money for approximately 70 sacks of rice.

They are currently coordinating with GMA Kapuso Foundation in sourcing of  rice and in distribution as well.

While Project Rice Up is initiated by Kapuso Artists, it is not limited to them. If you're interested to help, you can donate through this link.

Proceeds from the project will be used to donate sacks of rice to families affected by the upshot of the COVID-19 threat.

Many Filipinos have temporarily lost their jobs due to the enhanced community quarantine which was implemented by President Rodrigo Duterte on March 17.

On Tuesday, the government announced the extension of the ECQ until April 30.
